Here and Now is as Good as Gone

Questioning why we choose to ignore the moment we’re in

Why are we all in such a hurry? How come arriving at our perceived destination is more important than the journey we take to get there? Why are we pushing aside the beauty of the present moment as we race towards the illusions we create about our lives?

Too often we bypass the only thing that matters: all that is happening right now. We unconsciously seek to find what we are looking for in the future rather than embrace the magic of the present moment we are submerged in.

The reality of life is that nothing is promised and everything can change in a moment. In fact, everything does change moment to moment, it’s just usually not drastic enough for us to even register. Truth of the matter is that one event, one conversation, one action can change your entire life quite literally in just the amount of time it takes to gasp in a breath of air. And it doesn’t have to be something that you’d consider to be ‘bad’ like a car accident or a heart attack, it could be a ‘yes’ to that dream job or a step out of your comfort zone that instantly changes the course of your life.

But we’re too wrapped up in thinking about where we want to be to truly enjoy the process of getting there. Every moment spent on the journey is just as important…
