Bad Days Need Love Too
How to have compassion for yourself when things get tough
What do you do when you start to get irritated or think that life isn’t working for you?
Do you resist and get annoyed or angry at yourself for having negative thoughts and feelings? Do you hurriedly try to find positive thoughts to replace what you’re currently experiencing so you don’t have to be seen “out of sorts”?
What if you just allowed yourself to be a basket case and just let yourself be as you are in the moment?
This approach can almost seem counterproductive if you are always attempting to shine positivity on your life and appear happy and like you “have it all together”.
The thing is that none of us have it all together and we’re all just trying to do the best we can.
And that means having an occasional “bad” day.
We all have less than stellar days, and that’s ok. It’s when we don’t allow ourselves to acknowledge what we’re feeling or to express our emotions in a healthy way that leaves us seething for longer than we really need to.
